Son's birthday present!I bought this bicycle for my 4 year old son for Christmas. I was going to order the 14" wheel size but when I measured his height, he is exactly 40". Looking at the manufacturer's recommendations, the 40" was the maximum recommended height for the 14". The 16" wheel minimum recommended height was 38", so I figured 16" would be OK. I got the 16" and assembled it. With the seat at the lowest position, he can only reach the ground on his very tip toes. This may be OK for someone who already is experienced but for someone still learning, it makes it difficult. The bicycle is surprisingly heavy as well, which also makes it difficult again for someone just 40" tall. he zips about on his 12" balance bike, but can hardly manage this, even with training wheels. If I didn't live outside of the USA, I would exchange it for the 14". This bike will have to wait until he gets a bit taller.The quality of the bicycle is OK, what I expected for the money. It could have been packaged with more protective material. It came out of the box with a few scrapes/scratches.We ordered the cream colored bike. I think it’s more a pale yellow color in person though.Also, the bike arrived damaged :( my daughters birthday is this weekend, so I don’t have time to return and get a new one. Super disappointed.Besides the damage and color, the bike is cute and was easy to assemble.Much like many other reviews, the first bike we received was defective and we were unable to install the front tire. The pieces didn’t line up properly and there was no way to manipulate it to make it work. I really liked this bike…so I crossed my fingers and went with a replacement instead of a refund. The stores in my area do not sell 14 inch bikes and I really wanted this size for my daughter. And those reviewers that didn’t receive a defective bike had good things to say about it. The replacement was NOT defective and it’s a wonderful, solid bike and my daughter loves it!Bike had a couple dents. We received two left pedals so couldn’t ride bike. The grips were ripped on the ends. Cute looking bike but it’s annoying to spend money and not get a good bike. Our son was so excited to get a bike and didn’t want to return it. We really should have. We ended up ordering peddles and a kick stand(doesn’t come with one). Received them on the 27th so he could finally ride his Christmas gift. Wouldn’t recommend this bike.This is the 18” with training wheels. I was attempting to put this bike together with the enclosed instructions however that was difficult so I checked out the video they so graciously added in with the photos of this bike. It was much easier but it still took an hour. That aside, this really is a nice bike and I can’t wait till my grandson comes for Christmas!Very well made. Our grandgirl who turned 4 just loved it. Her favorite color is pink. That was the cherry on top. Would recommend.Well packaged and straight forward to assemble. Don't skimp out on lubricating the seat and handler-bar tubes, it'll save you from a big headache down the road! All purpose grease is best, but even a light brush of oil will help.My kid loves the little bell on it too.Muy padre
