My 11 year old had grown out of his old winter jacket and needed a new one. We live in Iowa and have very cold, snowy winters so the jacket needed to be water and wind resistant. This jacket was just what we were looking for. After several weeks of wear, the orange around the neck started to look a bit dirty. I put the jacket right in the wash machine and it came out looking new! The colors and pattern of the jacket stayed nice and bright after the washing. The best part of the jacket is the way it fits! The jacket is longer in length which helps keep the wind out. Also, this Columbia jacket has sleeves that can be let out. When you go in and pull out the stiches the sleeves let out another two inches. This is fantastic for growing kids! I am hopeful that between the longer length of the jacket and the sleeves that can be let out we may be able to get two winters out of this coat!Great jacket, as warm as expected. The option to extend the sleeves by an inch or so is very practical when you have growing kidsMy son absolutely loves this jacket!
