Sister authors Nancy Mossman and Deborah Mossman are the creative team in their company Button and Twink Studios. Both have years of experience working with children as preschool teachers, television producers, and running a playland and theme party business. In 2013 they started developing children’s educational apps which are downloaded worldwide and enjoyed by children all over the world. The story is strong and the book is beautifully illustrated by Murriam Saeed. One of the charms of this bedtime story book for toddlers is the fact that the authors have chosen a topic that is relatable to all children – seeing the various construction vehicles functioning around the town or city or countryside. The various familiar construction trucks are listed and illustrated as to their function during the busy day and then the ideas of what each dreams about at night stimulates children’s imagination while teaching them the function of the construction vehicles they see daily.During the day the cranes lift heavy things high and at night dream of flying in the sky doing daring rescues. Excavators rip dirt form the ground but at night dream of being chefs, Jackhammer breaks and pounds while at night he dreams of rocking to a funky beat A dump truck fills and dumps and at night he dreams of being a big wheeler to jump and slam and win. The tow truck pulls cars and trucks at work but at night she dreams of pulling the moon and stars. The road roller smoothes roads by day and at night dreams of being a racecar. The bulldozer flattens and pushes during the day but at night dreams of horns and stompings and loud roars. The imagery is particularly fine as are the creative ideas the authors assign the various construction vehicles. This is a fine and entertaining book and one that encourages children to go to sleep and dream – and know that some dreams really come truePurely entertaining and inspirational, this book will rapidly become a favorite of children for bedtime tales.
